PARTY BUSINESS - BRIDESMAID DRESS COLLECTION

I had the special honor of designing a good friend’s bridesmaids dresses for her big day. Liv is an artist who’s unique style and grace made for a very fun opportunity. When we met to go over the big picture elements for the designs, she wanted more of a feeling, or a vibe rather than strict design elements.

Her main inspirations were a mix between Bilbo Baggins (of Lord of the Rings) birthday party (you know the one with the big tree in the middle of the Shire and lots of lanterns lighting up the scene); and Rapunzel’s festival party (from the movie Tangled). So, in other words, a sense of whimsy, earthiness, and fun.

Using these images as my guide, I designed six total looks for her bridesmaids. Rather than having the ladies all dressed the same, we put them in a mini collection of dresses.

All the pieces are made from bamboo jersey, modal jersey, and floral printed cotton.
